Gather for the simple pleasure of making, exploring, conversing, experimenting, and occasionally wandering somewhere unexpected.

The Winks & Wanderings Society brings together kindred spirits who appreciate interesting things that arrest and alter how we experience the world.

Some months, we meet in person. Others, pajamas and Zoom seem extraordinarily good.

For women who …

  • Lose an afternoon in a museum, an antique shop, or somewhere you hadn’t intended, just to see what is there.

  • Believe that making something rather badly can still be a splendid use of one’s time with the right company.

  • Have brought home a single flower, only to rearrange half the room because it inspired an entirely different composition.

  • Can tumble from researching pickleball to the etiquette of Victorian dinner parties, with no particular need to explain the detour.

  • Would trade an evening of polite small talk for one gloriously unguarded conversation.

The algorithm and your inbox gave you tasks to dread and meetings to endure. This is for the things you keep meaning to try, and the interests that deserve more than a mindless scroll.

THE NEXT WANDERING SEASON

Sunday, January 24, 2027 | A new year, a new excursion, and an excellent excuse to gather.

  • A reason to make the time. Eight gatherings across four months, with a Sunday Exploration and a Monday Evening Salon each month. Something in the diary that you chose for the pleasure of it.

  • Guidance to get involved. Explore photography, drawing, intuitive painting and other experiments with Rhona. You can arrive without knowing how. We’ll give you somewhere to begin and room to find your own way.

  • People with something to share. Invited specialists bring their knowledge, processes and particular fascinations into masterclasses and conversations, with opportunities to ask the questions a passing article leaves unanswered.

  • Company for your enthusiasms. Bring what you’ve been reading, making, collecting or investigating. There is pleasure in finding someone who wants to hear the longer version.

  • Something to return to. A growing library of notes, reading lists and recordings when guests permit, so you can revisit an idea or pursue it further in your own time.

You needn’t turn every interest into an accomplishment. Some things are worth pursuing simply because they make your life more absorbing.

The Founding Season | January - April 2027

In person when occasion permits. Online when weather, pajamas or long distance are the better plan.

Membership: $200, one payment, four months to frolic. Founding members keep this rate for all the seasons they stay.

The room matters as much as the wandering. To keep membership intimate and personal, enrollment is limited and only open during select times of the year.

Enrollment opens in December.
